New Ebola Case in Monrovia, Liberia - a major setback

Deutche welle (German World), VOA, the NYT and others are reporting that 27 days after the last reported case of Ebola in Monrovia, Liberia, a new female patient has been found in Liberia.

This came as both a surprise and as devastating evidence that ebola had not been eliminated in that country, just as it was nearing the middle of the critical 42-day Ebola Free status which is required to proclaim the end of the epidemic in the country.
Once again I am directing interested people to my Ebola ebook.

Ebola WAS and still could be very dangerous threat to the entire world but prompt action has somewhat diminished the threat and it seems to be getting under control.

Google England has produced special tablets which can be washed in disinfectant solutions - greatly improving communication between doctors and caregivers.

As of the 18th, Guinea has 2988 confirmed Ebola cases and 1846 deaths.
Sierra Leone has 8508 confirmed cases and 3346 deaths.
as of the 17th Liberia, with poor reporting has 3150 confirmed cases and nearly 1900 probable cases. Other countries have only a few hundred probable cases.
For all countries there have been 24,753 Ebola cases with 50% mortality of 10,236 deaths.
Bad, but worst case predictions would have meant nearly 500,000 cases by now if major action hadn't been taken to mitigate the situation.
